“Are your Facebook friends more interesting than those you have in real life?” is the first line in the article (“An Ugly Toll of Technology: Impatience and Forgetfulness”)
Well, given the fact that all my Facebook friends are real, live humans, I’ll never say that their Facebook images and posts are in ANY way superior or more interesting than their real selves.
Digital Devices Deprive Brain of Needed Downtime
Ahhhh, Downtime…I love downtime. There are many benefits to daydreaming that I think help to counteract all the digital detritus.
- Improved Creativity
- Lower Blood Pressure
- Boosts your mood
- Brainstorming happens
- Cement your values and beliefs
And most interesting to me: “The Risks of Parenting While Plugged In”
How many of us have seen or BEEN the parent that talks on the phone while driving their kids around. Or, like I’ve been known to do recently, letting my baby stay on the floor for way too long while I type away at the computer.
